The Ronald McDonald House's $12 million expansion in Wauwatosa is a place of healing and hope which adds more guest rooms, play space and other amenities. The looming, gabled facades of the 33,000-square-foot expansion, designed by Continuum Architects and Planners, flow naturally from the pitched roof of the older facility. The buildings are wrapped with flat seam metal panels that merge with the panels on the long span of the old roof. The brick exterior plays off the colors of the existing stone sills and lintels, while the modern new masonry departs from the old.
